Voices of Horror: An Interview with Douglas Clegg

October 31, 2005 By Johnathon Williams

Douglas Clegg is the author of more than 20 novels, many of them staples to readers of mainstream horror fiction. His newest novel, The Priest of Blood, combines horror and high fantasy as it creates a mythical and historical saga around a new kind of vampire. Clegg and I spoke about the writing of the novel, the literary legacy of the vampire, and the intersections of myth and history.

By the way, no people were harmed during the making of this episode. (You'll understand after you listen.)

UPDATE (11:05 A.M): I just discovered that the file was somehow corrupted during its original upload. If you received any error messages during playback, or if the interview seemed to stop abruptly, please download it again. Everything is fixed now. Those pesky little Halloween goblins got started early this year.
